Adding mods and maps to your BeamMP server

🎮 Other games · Updated 18/08/2026

One of the strongest points of BeamMP, the multiplayer mod for BeamNG.drive, is that mods and maps are easy to share via the server. If you put a mod on your server, your fellow players automatically receive it when connecting — nobody has to install files manually. In this article you'll learn how to add mods and custom maps to your BeamMP server at MC-Node.

Before you start

You need a BeamMP server at MC-Node (from €3.00 per month via the order page) and access to the game panel at panel.mc-node.net. Also download the desired mods or maps as a zip file on your computer.

Step 1: Upload the mod to your server

  1. Log in to panel.mc-node.net and open your BeamMP server.
  2. Go to the Files tab.
  3. Open the Resources/Client folder. Files in this folder are automatically sent to players as soon as they connect.
  4. Click Upload and select the zip file of the mod or map. Leave the file as a zip; extracting is not necessary.

Step 2: Activate a custom map

A vehicle mod works immediately after the upload and a restart. If you want to drive on a custom map, you also set it as the active map:

  1. In the Files tab, open the server's configuration file (ServerConfig.toml).
  2. Find the line with Map and enter the path of the desired map there, for example /levels/<mapname>/info.json. You can find the map name in the map's zip file.
  3. Click Save Content to save the file.

Step 3: Restart the server

  1. Go to the Console tab.
  2. Click Restart.
  3. Watch the console: as soon as the server is running again, the mod is active.

Step 4: Check in the game

  1. Start BeamNG.drive and connect to your server via BeamMP.
  2. When connecting, the game automatically downloads the mods that are on the server.
  3. Check whether the custom map loads and the new vehicles are available.

Tips

  • Remove mods you no longer use from Resources/Client; this keeps the download small when connecting.
  • The BeamMP server mod is very lightweight, but many large mods and maps require more memory. If you outgrow your plan, upgrading is easy — MC-Node offers plans from 2 to 20 GB RAM, cancellable monthly.
  • All servers run on NVMe storage, so mods load quickly.
