How do I start a 7 Days to Die server at MC-Node?

🎮 Other games · Updated 18/08/2026

7 Days to Die is a zombie survival game in which you build a base with friends and survive a horde night every seventh night. With an average of around 29,000 players, the game is very much alive, and since the 'Storm's Brewing' update, dedicated servers also support crossplay. At MC-Node you can rent your own 7 Days to Die server from €3.00 per month, with NVMe storage, DDoS protection and monthly cancellation. In this article we walk through the whole process: ordering, choosing the right plan, the first start and connecting.

Step 1: order your server

  1. Go to the 7 Days to Die page in our store.
  2. Choose a plan (2 to 20 GB RAM) and a server location: the Netherlands, Germany, Poland or North America. Pick the location closest to you and your fellow players for the lowest ping.
  3. Complete the order. Your server is online within 1 minute and you will receive the login details for the game panel by email.

Which plan do I need?

For 7 Days to Die, around 8 GB of RAM is recommended. Our advice:

  • 2-4 GB: to try out the server or for a very small group; keep in mind that this is below the recommendation.
  • 8 GB: the recommended choice for a smooth experience with friends.
  • 12-20 GB: extra headroom for larger groups, extensive bases and future updates. The roadmap includes a version with bandits, for example.

Not sure? Start with 8 GB; you can always upgrade to a larger plan later.

Step 2: first start via the panel

  1. Log in to the Pterodactyl game panel via panel.mc-node.net with the details from the email.
  2. Open your 7 Days to Die server in the overview.
  3. On the Console tab, click Start. On the first start the server generates the world; this can take a while. Follow the progress in the console.
  4. Once the console reports that the server is ready, players can connect.

Step 3: connecting to your server

  1. Note your server's IP address and port; you can find these in the panel on the Console tab.
  2. Start 7 Days to Die and choose the option to join a server in the menu.
  3. Using the connect-by-IP option, enter the IP address and port and connect.
  4. Thanks to crossplay support for dedicated servers, friends on other platforms can join too.
