How do I start an Unturned server at MC-Node?
Unturned is a free zombie survival game, which makes it a popular choice for anyone renting their first game server. At MC-Node your Unturned server runs on NVMe storage with DDoS protection and is online within 1 minute. In this article you'll learn how to order, which plan to choose, how to start the server for the first time and how to connect.
Step 1: order your server
- Go to mc-node.net/store/unturned.
- Choose a plan. Unturned servers start at €3.00 per month and can be cancelled monthly.
- Choose a server location: the Netherlands, Germany, Poland or North America. Pick the location closest to you and your players for the lowest ping.
- Complete the order. Your server is created automatically and is online within 1 minute.
Which plan do I need?
Plans range from 2 GB to 20 GB of RAM. Unturned is a light game in terms of resources, so you don't need a heavy plan to get started:
- 2-4 GB RAM: fine for a small server with friends and the standard game without mods.
- More RAM: choose a bigger plan if you want to run many Workshop mods or are planning a larger community or RP server. Mods and more players require more memory.
Not sure? Start small: you can always adjust your plan later and you're not tied into anything long-term.
Step 2: start the server via the panel
- Log in to the game panel at panel.mc-node.net. You'll receive your login credentials by email after ordering.
- Click your Unturned server in the overview.
- Click the Start button. You'll see the server booting in the Console.
- Wait until the console indicates the server is ready. On first start the server data is created; that can take a bit longer than usual.
Step 3: connect to your server
- Note your server's IP address and port. You'll find them in the panel on your server's page.
- Launch Unturned on your PC and click Play.
- Choose Connect and enter your server's IP address and port.
- Click Connect to join. Share the IP address and port with your friends so they can play along.
Trouble connecting?
- Check in the panel that the server status is Running.
- Check that you've entered the correct IP address and port.
- Look in the panel's Console for any error messages.
