Managing your Enshrouded server: settings, updates and backups

🎮 Other games · Updated 18/08/2026

Your Enshrouded server at MC-Node is running, but how do you adjust the settings, keep it up to date and store your progress safely? In this article you'll walk step by step through day-to-day management via our Pterodactyl game panel at panel.mc-node.net.

Adjusting server settings

  1. Log in at panel.mc-node.net and open your Enshrouded server.
  2. Go to the Startup tab. Here you'll find variables such as the server name and the password.
  3. Adjust the values you want. In any case, set a password if you don't want strangers wandering into your world.
  4. Want to change more options? Open the Files tab and edit the server's configuration file there with the built-in editor. Save with Save Content.
  5. Click Restart to apply the changes. Settings only take effect after a restart.

Tip: your server supports up to 16 players. If you notice things getting busy, check whether your package has enough RAM — 8 to 16 GB is recommended for Enshrouded. You can upgrade via our store.

Updating your server

Enshrouded remains in early access until 15 October 2026, when version 1.0 will be released. Updates come thick and fast during this period, and client and server must run the same version to be able to connect.

  1. Open your server in the panel and click Stop. Wait until the server has fully stopped.
  2. Start the server again with Start. On startup, the installation checks for a new version and downloads it automatically.
  3. Follow the progress in the Console tab and wait until the server is reported as ready again.

Can your players suddenly no longer join after a game update? Then your server is probably still running the old version: a restart via the panel almost always fixes this.

Backing up your world

Your world and progress are precious — so make regular backups, especially before major updates such as the release of 1.0.

  1. In the panel, open the Backups tab.
  2. Click Create Backup and optionally give the backup a recognisable name.
  3. Wait until the backup has finished; you'll then see it in the list.
  4. Restoring? Click the menu next to the backup you want and choose Restore. Always do this while the server is stopped.

Handy basic buttons at a glance

  • Start, Stop and Restart — server management from the main page.
  • Console — watch live what the server is doing.
  • Files — manage configuration and world files.
  • Backups — keep your progress safe.

This way you keep your Enshrouded server running smoothly, ready for the release of version 1.0 on PC and PS5.
