Setting up a GSLT token for your Counter-Strike 2 server

Want everyone to be able to find and join your Counter-Strike 2 server? Then you need a GSLT token (Game Server Login Token) from Steam. It is required for public servers; for a private server with only friends you can play without a token. The token is free and set up within a few minutes. What is a GSLT token?

A GSLT token links your game server to your own Steam account. Steam requires this for public community servers — think servers for scrims, retakes, surf or minigames that are visible to everyone. Each token is unique and belongs to one server.

Step 1: Create a GSLT token

1. Go to steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers and log in with your Steam account.
2. When creating a new token, enter the App ID of Counter-Strike 2.
3. Optionally add a Memo, for example the name of your server, so you can recognise the token later.
4. Click the button to create the token and copy the token code.

Tip: treat your token like a password. Don't share it publicly; anyone with your token can link a server to your account.

Step 2: Set the token via the panel

1. Log in at panel.mc-node.net and open your Counter-Strike 2 server.
2. Go to the Startup tab.
3. Paste your token code into the field for the GSLT token.
4. Go back to the Console and click Restart to restart the server with the token.

Step 3: Verify everything works

1. Wait until the server has fully started; follow this in the Console.
2. Launch Counter-Strike 2 and connect to your server via connect ip:port.
3. Is the server running without token-related error messages in the console? Then your server is correctly registered and publicly reachable.

Common problems

• Invalid token: check that you pasted the code completely and without spaces into the panel.
• Token already in use: each token belongs to one server. Create an additional token on the Steam page for a second server.
• Token lost or leaked: generate a new token at steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers and replace the old one in the panel.
