Many game servers, like Minecraft, Rust and FiveM, rely mostly on the speed of a single core: the main thread that updates the world. That's where the processor makes the biggest difference. The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X* reaches up to 5.7 GHz and is clearly faster per core than the AMD EPYC 7443P (up to 4.0 GHz) in the Normal VPS and the Intel Xeon in the Budget VPS.
On top of that, you get DDR5 memory and NVMe storage. You'll notice it when loading large worlds and modpacks, generating new chunks and running databases. Like the Normal VPS, Premium runs on KVM: you install Linux or Windows Server through the VirtFusion panel.

Minecraft runs on Java and mostly uses one core per world, so the clock speed of the Ryzen 9 is what counts. You install Java, set up Paper or a modpack server and have it start automatically with systemd. For a modpack like All the Mods, start with at least 12 GB of memory.
A FiveM server with lots of scripts needs fast cores and enough memory: for up to 64 slots, count on 8 to 16 GB. The MC CDN is included for free: turn it on in the client panel and players download your resources via cdn.mc-node.net on Cloudflare's network instead of from your VPS. Windows Server 2022 with a ready-made FiveM installation is available when you order a Normal VPS.
With the free game panel Pterodactyl, you manage all your game servers from your browser: start, stop, the console, files and backups for each server. You install it yourself on Ubuntu; our guide takes you through it step by step.
Game servers are a popular target for DDoS attacks. That's why all traffic to your VPS comes in through PletX, which filters out attacks upstream before they reach our network. That network is our own (AS211750): the switch is connected to PletX with 4× 40 Gbit/s, and every Premium node is connected to that switch with 2× 10 Gbit/s RJ45.
Each VPS has a guaranteed 1 Gbit/s under fair use. Everything is located in the Previder PDC2 data centre in Hengelo, so if you're in the Netherlands or Belgium, you're close to your server. In the client panel, turn on the MC CDN for your VPS and enter the IP address and port of your FiveM server. Then add the lines the panel shows to your server.cfg and restart the server. Players then download your resources via cdn.mc-node.net on Cloudflare's network. Free with your plan.

Yes. Premium is KVM, so you can install Windows Server 2019, 2022 or 2025 through the VirtFusion panel. A Windows licence isn't included: without your own key, Windows runs as a 180-day evaluation version.
With a Premium VPS, you share the CPU cores with other VPSes on the same server. With a VDS, the cores are dedicated to you, which gives more consistent performance.
