When you order your Normal VPS, you choose Windows Server 2022 as the operating system. It's an optimised installation that can set up FiveM for you right away. Once your VPS is ready, you log in as Administrator with Remote Desktop (RDP). Prefer a different version? In the VirtFusion panel, you can reinstall your VPS with Windows Server 2019 or 2025.
No Windows licence is included with the VPS, so you don't pay anything extra for one either. Without your own licence key, Windows Server runs as a 180-day evaluation version. Windows needs more memory than Linux: we recommend at least 4 GB. For a FiveM server with up to 64 slots, count on 8 to 16 GB. Every Normal VPS runs on AMD EPYC 7443P servers with DDR4 memory and NVMe storage in the Previder PDC2 data centre in Hengelo (the Netherlands).

With KVM you get a complete virtual machine, so you're free to put whatever you like on it. Four examples:
Choose Windows if your software only runs on Windows: an always-on Remote Desktop workstation, a .NET or IIS application, Microsoft SQL Server or a game server that only exists for Windows. For websites, Docker and most game servers, Linux is usually lighter, because the operating system itself uses less memory.
When you order, choose Windows Server 2022 with the FiveM installation, or set up FiveM yourself on Linux. The MC CDN is included for free: turn it on in the client panel and players download your resources via cdn.mc-node.net on Cloudflare's network instead of directly from your VPS. After that, you create a server for each game and divide your VPS's memory yourself. Running heavy games or large modpacks? Then you'll get more out of the fast cores of a Ryzen 9 game VPS.
With KVM, your VPS runs as a complete virtual machine with its own kernel. That's why Windows, every Linux distribution, Docker and custom kernel modules all work. With the Budget VPS on OpenVZ, you share the kernel with the server: cheaper, but Linux only. Want cores all to yourself? Then take a look at a VDS.
On our own AMD EPYC servers in the Previder PDC2 data centre in Hengelo, on our own network, AS211750. All traffic comes in through PletX, which filters out DDoS attacks upstream before they reach your VPS. The switch is connected to PletX with 4× 40 Gbit/s.
Each VPS has a guaranteed 1 Gbit/s under fair use; how much uplink a node has varies per node. You can measure your ping to Hengelo at the top of this page, and the status of our nodes is on status.mc-node.net.
